Terms of Service

Rules for guests and hosts on our Airbnb-style short-stay marketplace.

By using Kenya Airbnb Stays at www.airbnbhost.co.ke you agree to these Terms. The platform is for short-stay and Airbnb-style accommodation in Kenya — not for general land or property-for-sale classifieds.

1. The service

We provide tools for hosts to list stays and for guests to discover them and send booking requests. Kenya Airbnb Stays is a marketplace and technology provider. Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, we are not the owner of listed properties and are not a party to the stay contract between guest and host.

2. Accounts

  • Provide accurate registration details and keep login credentials confidential
  • You must be legally able to enter contracts in Kenya (or your jurisdiction)
  • Sharing accounts or creating fake host profiles is prohibited
  • We may suspend accounts that breach these Terms or harm other users

3. Stay listings (hosts)

  • Listings must describe real short-stay accommodation you are authorised to offer
  • Photos, amenities, location, nightly price and house rules must be accurate
  • Update the availability calendar so booked or blocked nights are not offered twice
  • Misleading, duplicate or illegal listings may be removed without notice
  • You are responsible for local laws, taxes, licences and safety standards for your stay

4. Booking requests (guests)

  • A request is not a confirmed reservation until the host accepts (and any agreed deposit is paid, if applicable)
  • Provide correct contact details so the host can reach you
  • Respect house rules and local laws during your stay
  • Disputes about refunds, damages or check-in are primarily between guest and host; we may assist with platform records where reasonable

5. Payments & deposits

  • Optional pre-booking deposits are set by hosts (e.g. percentage via M-Pesa Till/Paybill). Payment is made to the host’s stated details
  • Platform subscription fees for hosts (if enabled) are billed as described on the pricing/subscription pages; refunds only where required by law or our written policy
  • Always verify payment instructions match the host profile on Kenya Airbnb Stays before paying

6. Content & intellectual property

You grant us a licence to display listing content you upload on the platform and in marketing related to the marketplace. Site branding, software and design remain our property. Do not scrape the site or reuse content without permission.

7. Acceptable use

You may not: harass users; spam; post fraudulent stays; bypass security; upload malware; or use the platform for illegal activity. Violations may lead to permanent ban and, where appropriate, reporting to authorities.

8. Verification badges

Verified badges are issued at our discretion after review. They indicate a completed platform check, not a government licence or guarantee of stay quality.

9. Disclaimers

Stays are offered by hosts. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, uninterrupted availability of any night, or the condition of any property. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to fees you paid to us (if any) in the three months before the claim.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance.
